Hafiz Ka Multani Sohan Halwa Recipe

Ingredients

Sugar (1/2 kg)

All-purpose flour (1/2 kg)

Oil/ ghee (1/2 kg)

Grape powder (2 tbsp.)

Milk (1 cup)

Water (2 liter)

Saffron milk (3 tbsp.)

Cardamom powder (50 gram)

Pistachio (3-4 tbsp. for garnishing)

Almonds (4-5 tbsp. for garnishing)

Walnuts (3-4 tbsp. for garnishing)

Grape powder (2 tbsp.)

Recipe

Pass the flour through sieve to make it lump free. Pour 1 cup of water in a pan and add sugar in it, place it on medium low flame. Keep stirring till all the sugar is dissolved properly in the water, when the syrup is boiled add milk to it. Reduce the flame a little and let it boil

Once the mixture is boiled keep it for 5 minutes. The mixture will be thick, this will have a little scum on the top, and our goal is to remove it. Pass it through the sieve; once it is cleaned add remaining water and sugar to the mixture.

Add saffron milk in the mixture and keep stirring, this will enhance the flavor. Now, add the all-purpose flour into the mixture and mix this well. The consistency will become thick and sticky. Add grape powder and you will see the smooth texture turning into grainy texture. Add oil little by little and keep mixing it.

Pour this mixture into greased pan and spread it evenly in a thick layer. Let the mixture cool. Once it is cool enough cut it into pieces. Garnish with almonds, pistachio and walnuts and serve it.
